Geologically and historically a frontier zone between Lowland and Highland Scotland, this is a varied area bursting with scenic and heritage interest. The view in our page banner above shows the 'Bonnie Banks' of Loch Lomond, which is the area's premier scenic feature and long celebrated in the famous Jacobite ballad which begins, "Ye'll tak the high road". We'll take high roads and low roads, but mainly we take an unhurried pace by quiet roads off the main tourist track, so you can appreciate this wonderful scenery at its very best. The banks are indeed bonnie and you'll soon appreciate why the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area has recently been declared Scotland's first national park. This tour includes a delightful boat trip to historic Inchcailloch, one of Loch Lomond's most beautiful islands.
